Challenges

Across industries many organisations struggle with legacy product structures and ways of working that hinder their ability to adopt new technologies and innovate at scale. These challenges are particularly relevant to industries where agility and operational efficiency are critical to maintain a competitive edge, like financial services and pharmaceuticals.

The absence of efficient and effective product structures often results in common, visible challenges for organisations. However, there are also hidden challenges that may not be immediately apparent to senior stakeholders. My role involves working with senior executives to provide an understanding of their organisation’s current state and to clarify the impact that targeted changes will have on their business.

Solutions

The Product Transformation and Delivery Programs I have led encompass designing, implementing, and scaling product teams while fostering a product-centric mindset across the organisation. These teams often consist of a combination of internal staff and third-party collaborators, with the long-term objective of building self-sustaining, fully internalized teams that deliver value and drive progress from within.

The goal of these programs is to empower organisations to operate with agility and autonomy, ensuring their product teams are equipped to adapt to evolving market demands and consistently deliver meaningful outcomes. The desired outcome is a seamless integration of strategy, execution, and innovation, driven by teams that are aligned with the organisation’s long-term vision and objectives.

My Role

My role involves leading large-scale product transformation initiatives, guiding organisations from strategy through to execution. My responsibilities include:

  • Product Team Leadership: Designing, onboarding, and managing high-performing product teams that deliver Cloud and Data solutions. This includes building and guiding Cloud and Data Engineers, Product Owners, and Designers, to achieve the organisations’ strategic objectives.
  • Strategic Integration: Ensuring the seamless adoption and integration of new technologies and solutions across the organisation, minimising disruptions and maximising value.
  • OKRs and Governance: Supporting clients in defining and achieving their OKRs while establishing robust governance frameworks to manage multiple products across diverse functions.
  • Change Management: Driving alignment and collaboration across all levels of the organisation, fostering a culture that embraces innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Designed and established an MLOps framework and led the development of a Data and AI platform for a global pharmaceutical and biotechnology organisation.
  • Mobilised a Cloud Center of Excellence team and led the development of a Cloud and Data platform for a major UK financial institution.
  • Directed the design and launch of a Cloud product team, overseeing the development of a Cloud Platform for a global advertising agency.
  • Transformed the engineering function of a global logistics company and delivered a revamped customer-facing online application.
